Projects
– Project Reference –
The project is refer to Provision Of Decommisioning, Relocation, Modification and Commisioning (DRMC) of Wellhead Platform for Ophir Decommisioning and JItang Development.
Vestigo Petroleum Sdn. Bhd. (hereinafter referred to as the “Company”) is undertaking the development of the Jitang Field. The Jitang Field is located at approximately 96nm north east of the Kemaman Supply Base and about 50nm North West of the Ophir Field.
The hydrocarbon recovered from the Jitang Field will be stored in an FPSO via flexible flowlines. The Company intends to recover the oil reserve using an existing wellhead platform (WHP) which is currently located at the Ophir Field.
The WHP at the Ophir Field was installed in April 2017. The WHP consists of a topside, boat landing which are supported by a jacket. The jacket is anchored to the seabed by three suction piles and can therefore be easily relocated to the Jitang Field where similar water depths (about 71m) and seabed conditions (i.e. clay) are expected.
The relocation work involves the retrieval of the WHP as a single unit using a heavy lift vessel. RedTech Offshore Sdn Bhd (RTO) as the Main Contractor for the provision of all services. Our scope of work include provision of marine transport and installation engineering services.

The scope of services for the mooring and transportation study include: Transportation & Sea Fastening Design Analysis; Mooring Analysis & Catenary Plot and Wire Clearance Check; Anchor Handling (Deployment and Retrieval Procedures); Gangway Installation & Removal Procedures; and Lifting Analysis (Capacity & Radius Check).
PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd has awarded the project to PBJV Sdn Bhd to replace approximately 450m of the first section of the existing 6.9 km 10” pipeline system from Kepong A (Ke-A) platform to Tiong A (Ti-A) platform (PMLOPL-24)
The works involved by decommissioning, removing and salvaging the existing pipeline together with riser and few joints on seabed using the secondary pipe-lay barge. Then the new sectional 10-inch pipeline and riser were installed.
Our scope of works as engineering consultant include:
The scope for this project include of decommissioned and change-out of riser for six pipelines at Bekok-C platform. The decommissioned and change-out riser are:
Installation of pipeline protection frame. Supervise on the pipeline nitrogen purging activities for the six pipelines (decommissioning). Pipelaying for the 6-inch Tabu-A to Tabu-B pipeline.
The main scope of work is to perform engineering design and associated activities for one (1) of the pipeline (PL 076) intended to be replaced under the pipeline replacement campaign. The new replacement pipeline (PL 076) which is located between the Bokor Drilling Platform (BODP-C) and at Bokor Production Platform (BOP-A) was replaced using the normal lay barge method.
The new replacement subsea pipeline system is carbon steel material, sized to accommodate the intended flow rates and design requirements. The pipeline is located between the Bokor Drilling Platform (BODP-C) and at Bokor Production Platform (BOP-A) with an approximate length of 0.68 km.
The provision for the engineering services were:
Pipeline Engineering include Route Selection Report, Riser Design Basis, Hanger Flange Details Drawings
Mechanical Engineering include Engineering Detail Design Report, Alignment Sheet Drawings, MTO List
Corrosion Engineering include Corrosion Design Basis Memorandum, Corrosion Management Plan, Cathodic Protection System Analysis, Pipeline and Riser External Corrosion Coating System.
Puteri wellhead platform which is located approximately 320 kilometers offshore Kerteh, Terengganu is a 60 m water depth within block PM318. Puteri was developed with a small unmanned platform with minimum production equipment, one 13.5 km x 8- inch Full Well Stream (FWS) pipeline to the existing Bunga Kertas FPSO and one 13.5 km x 8-inch Gas Lift (GL) pipeline from the FPSO back to Puteri.
The Puteri pipelines were tie-in to the existing Penara to Bunga Kertas FPSO 12-inch FWS pipeline and 8-inch GL pipeline. The subsea tie-in consist of a pipeline end manifold (PLEM), which was designed to enable minimum interference of the Penara production from the incoming Puteri production.
It is required that a post-trenching method to be employed for this pipeline as the pipe-lay operation has been completed.
The detailed scope of work which represents the procedure adopted for the burial of the pipeline utilising a jet sled for trenching and a plow for backfilling comprises of the following:
